Valley Symphony Orchestra and McAllen Performing Arts Center partner to offer membership program and discounted 2017-2018 season subscriptions

McAllen — The Valley Symphony Orchestra and the McAllen Performing Arts Center (MPAC) are partnering to offer the community an opportunity to purchase the MPAC Membership Program at $125 per person with a purchase of a regular season subscription with the Valley Symphony Orchestra. This partnership takes effect from May 25 through Thursday, August 21– the deadline to purchase a 2017-2018 season subscription. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The benefits of adding the MPAC Membership Program to your VSO season subscription is advance two week notice to all concerts at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, first right of refusal to purchase tickets to select MPAC concerts before the public sale begins and advance notice of show announcements, events and special pre-sale offers via the MPAC newsletter. For individuals who already have an MPAC membership, a special 4-concert discounted VSO season subscription membership will be offered for MPAC concerts only. With a season subscription to the Valley Symphony Orchestra, patrons will enjoy six symphonic concerts including a POPS concert and two concerts featuring the Valley Symphony Chorale. The season will begin with “A Simple Gift,” featuring Diana Seitz, violin on September 22 and “Triumphant Beethoven” featuring Yuliya Gorenman, piano on October 20 both to be held at the UTRGV Performing Arts Center in Edinburg. The family favorite, “A Touch of Frost,” featuring classical and sacred traditional holiday music with the Valley Symphony Chorale is scheduled for Friday, November 17 at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.

The POPS concert set for Friday, February 2, 2018 is entitled “América, América” and will feature the nationally-acclaimed, Mariachi Aztlan, in their highest level of incredible arrangements written exclusively by Eddie Lopez for a phenomenal collaboration with the Valley Symphony Orchestra. This high energy, vibrantly colorful and magnificently arranged concert is influenced by indigenous music from North, Central and South American music that will make you feel as if you are visiting these wonderful country-sides.

The VSO will change gears on Friday, March 2, 2018 with “Spectacular Broadway and Much More” featuring the internationally renowned pianist, Asiya Korepanova in her performance of (Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto, No. 1, Op.23, B-Flat Minor). Do not miss this spectacular performance where Maestro Peter Dabrowski will offer the best musical scores from the classical era of Broadway where time was simpler, good will was easily found and where there was a constant atmosphere of goodness and optism. To wrap the 66th anniversary season, Maestro Peter Dabrowski will perform the wildly popular “Forbidden Pleasures of Carmina Burana,” featuring the Valley Symphony Chorale conducted by chorale conductor, Dr. David Means. The hugely incredible finale with close to 200 entertainers on stage will leave you eager for more. It promises to be the most entertaining musical experience ever.
