McAllen to be Home to the Tallest Christmas Tree in South Texas

McALLEN- The City of McAllen is proud to announce the newest and biggest addition of holiday décor displayed around town, a 64’ pre-lit Christmas tree.  This grand display of holiday cheer will stand tall and bright in Oval Park at the McAllen Convention Center.  Oval Park provides the perfect setting for this Christmas tree, already a popular location to visit at Palms Crossings, the added attraction of the tree will make those visits even more spectacular.  The Convention Center has ample parking and will allow visitors to experience the size up close.

During December the Convention Center will host “Holiday Mercado”, UTPA & STC Graduations, Sunset Live, New Year’s Eve Bash along with many other Christmas parties and meetings.  These events alone will attract over 50,000 people in addition to the shopping and eatery traffic that frequent Oval Park.

Plans are underway, by the City of McAllen, for an official tree lighting as well as additional entertainment for families to complement their visit to Oval Park starting December 1st.

McAllen’s Christmas tree will be on display until after the New Year’s Eve Bash (January 1, 2015).
