Operational Policies

We are pleased that you chose the McAllen Convention Center (MCC) for your event. Our staff is committed to providing you with quality service and we understand if your event is successful, then we are successful. Planning and completing a successful event is difficult at best, and the MCC is committed to assisting you in your efforts. In creating a partnership for the success of your event, this manual is to provide you with planning information designed to minimize “surprise encounters” and maximize the success of your staff, exhibitors and Facility Contractor.

An Event Coordinator (EC) is assigned specifically to you to act as your liaison with various departments of the Convention Center throughout your entire planning process. If you have any questions about any of the items covered in this manual, please contact your Event Coordinator first. He/she will be able to handle your inquiry quickly and efficiently on your behalf.

The following are the operational policies of the McAllen Convention Center. We recommend the Facility Contractor provide a copy of the manual or the appropriate section to their exhibitors, subcontractors or any persons involved with the execution of the event. We hope this guide will answer questions, provide timelines, and inform you of our operating policies. We realize each event is unique and you may have specific questions and challenges during the planning process. Please ask your Event Coordinator about any concern you may have.

Since policies have a way of changing, your assigned EC will ask you for your e-mail address so we can keep you informed of any revisions. Your EC will also handle any special requests and answer any questions you may have about the facility.

We welcome the opportunity to work with you on your event. The McAllen Convention Center staff will do everything possible to make your event a success.
